Speaker: Suzanne Gazzaniga Suzanne is currently a Supervising Deputy District Attorney for the Placer County District Attorney's Office and serves as coordinator for C.A.M.E.T. (The Community and Agency Multidisciplinary Elder Team). Working as a deputy prosecutor for the Placer County District Attorney's Office she makes presentations to local law enforcement, attorneys and the community regarding the investigation, prosecution and prevention of elder & dependant adult financial and physical abuse, as well as other topics. She was on the Board of Directors for the California District Attorney's Association (CDAA) in 2006-2008. She is also a Part-Time Professor at Sierra Community College. On May 27, 2003, then Attorney General Bill Lockyer presented her with the Attorney General's 2003 Distinguished Service Award for Elder Abuse Prosecution. This honor recognized and honored Suzanne for her successful and cutting edge prosecution of crimes in which the victims were older and developmentally disabled adults. In 2004 her colleagues at the office honored her as the Placer County Prosecutor of the Year. In 2009 she was again recognized as Co-Prosecutor of the year for Placer County and also recognized as Co-Prosecutor of the Year for the State of California for rural and medium size counties by the California District Attorney's Association. Most recently, in 2010, Suzanne was honored by Peace for Families in Placer County with their "Have a Heart for Peace" award in February 2010. |
